MyPure Round up...

I've been slacking on beauty related posts recently so thought i would put a bunch of mini reviews together for your viewing pleasure tonight :)

A'kin lavender, geranium and jojoba Hand, Nail & Cuticle creme
This smells sooooooooooooooo good!!.This hand cream is amazing and keeps my hands really soft, my only main complaint is that the tube is a bit too big to be 'handbag sized'... 75ml of product costs about £7.99 which is also really expensive compared to some handcreams. That said, one of my work colleagues used this on her face the other day because she had had an allergic reaction (and had run out of face cream) and she ordered some straight away at work because she thought it was that good!! I love this so much i've almost used up the tube and i rarely ever finish hand creams as i always buy a new one!

Alva crystal-deo intensive spray
This can be found here
I'm going to go straight in there with this and say i hate it, it smells awful, the bottle is heavy (glass) and awkward to use, the product itself is really hard to spray on the underarms and when you do manage to spray it in the right place, far too much comes out in one pump and it all dribbles down your body and goes everywhere. its also £8.50 which i think is completely ridiculous! haha, sorry to be so negative but i have never, ever lied in a review on this blog and i don't intend on starting now!

A'kin sandalwood and sweet orange invigorating body scrub
This on the other hand was love at first scrub!! First off, the scent is amazing! Second, it isnt scratchy and painful, third, it has managed to get rid of all of the dry horrible skin on the tops of my arms and my feet (gross, i know, but i had to go there!). Considering how effective this is and how much i adore the scent, i don't think £11.99 is too expensive :) i only have about one use of this left which again, is really out of character!

Lovea Bio Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Hair Mask
Appologies for the stock photo of this one but ive already used it up and RECYCLED THE POT! haha :) This smells amazing and makes my hair really, really soft, this is the third product ive used from the lovea bio monoi range and i have used all 3 up completely :) This retails at £7.99 here and it has really helped my parched bleached hair! Huge thumbs up for this!

'But what do I buy my dad?'

Hi everyone! Earlier this evening i tweeted asking for advice on what to buy my dad for christmas this year, i've already got him a few little bits and bobs and can't really afford to get him anything expensive so i was a bit stuck! I got some great replys from people but i'd already bought him all of the suggested things in previous years :(

Eventually i engaged my brain and google 'gifts for dad'... This amazing website called Difficult Dads came up and i clicked on it straight away! After a good 30 minutes of browsing and lolling at the various gifts on there (desktop basketball, collapsible pocket pint glass, etc) I ordered this as my dad is well known for drinking an absolute shit load of tea at work! this mug hold a LOL worth 1.5pints of *insert selected beverage here* and looks rather G which is good as dad is referred to by everyone as 'westside' these days ;)

Anyway i just thought i would spread the knowledge as i can't be the only blogger who is like 'WTF DO I BUY MY DADDDDD' haha!

The site has free delivery and as an extra little gem of goodness, when I placed my order i got an email with the code:
CW0159 in it... This code will get you 10% off when you enter it at the checkout so don't forget to do that if you order something!

(no, i did not mention my blog or anything, and no i am not affiliated with them in ANY WAY - i think its something they do for everyone who places an order as the email says to pass the code on to friends and family and well, we're all friends in blogland...right? RIGHT?)

so yeah, if you see anything then pop that code in and save yourself some pennies!! i'm going to get dad one of the personalised pub signs for his birthday in january! shhhhh don't tell him!

How much?!

What would you do with £40,000? I'd go on a huge shopping spree, buy lots of clothes and make-up, an iPhone4, a new laptop (MacBook please!!) and believe it or not, a diamonté; mouse for my laptop (I've wanted one for ages! but never got round to buying one). I'd probably save a bit as well, let it gain a bit of interest and all of that grown up stuff! Ooooooh and I'd also go on holiday to America, I've always wanted to go!

On second thoughts it would probably be sensible to use some of the money for christmas presents wouldn't it? I've started doing a bit of present planning/shopping but with uni work and 'work work' (as in, my job), it just seems impossible! There's no way I have time to get into town, or the energy to carry everything back (and find somewhere to hide it from stew). So this year, for the first time EVER, i'm doing most of my christmas shopping online!

At the moment paypal are running weekly draws to Win £40000. To win, literally all you have to do is buy something using paypal, something us beauty bloggers probably do more often that we should ;)

Obviously the more you buy things using paypal, the more chances you get to win!! With it being so close to christmas (eeeek!) why not grab this beauty from Boots for your best friend? Or maybe this from ASOS
(I'd probably end up keeping that for myself, its beautiful!)

Whenever I'm christmas shopping I'm always naughty and pop a little treat for myself in the basket! At the moment I'm on a bit of a perfume kick, heck, with £40k I'd be able to buy this, this and this and still have plenty of change left over ;)

I've been trawling through the Fragrance Direct website this evening looking for yummy perfume pressies for my mum and nan - obviously I'm going to pay via paypal (well who would say no to the opportunity to have £40,000?!?!). To Find out more about the competition simply click here! Alternatively you could just go for it and enter now for your chance to win :) The way I look at it, i'm going to spend the money anyway, regardless of whether I pay using my card, or pay using paypal... so why not just use paypal and have the chance to win? After all, as stew always tells me, you have to be in it to win it!

The small print!

currently living my life by....

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now. Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine. Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing everyday that scares you Sing Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours. Floss Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself. Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how. Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements. Stretch Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t. Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone. Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own.. Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room. Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them. Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly. Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
good. Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young. Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel. Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders. Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out. Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will
look 85. Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth. But trust me on the sunscreen…

we held it down and kept the pma!

I've been rather MIA from here haven't i?! i bet no one has missed me anyway!!
I do have a good reason though, as most of you will know i had a bit of a 'night of it' on twitter probably about 10 days ago.. i had been nothing but negative and horrible to people for WEEKS and to be honest, i don't really blame the other bloggers for putting me in my place there and then! i had been completely out of order and as far as i know i've appologised to anyone i felt deserved it ;) anywayyyyy...

that night i decided to change things in my life, a particular blogger (she knows who she is) had a big chat with me on msn and basically made it clear that i just couldnt continue the way i was going, it was literally making me ill..

my big change was to get rid of as much of the negativity in my life as i possibly could, i cleared out twitter, blogger, tumblr, msn, my phone book, EVERYTHING!! now, every minute of every day, i try my very hardest to be as positive as i possibly can.. it sounds utterly vomit inducing and cliché but i genuinly feel like it has changed my life already!

*i have cried less, moaned less and smiled and laughed more

*my relationship with stew is stronger than it has ever been and i feel like we're back in the honeymoon period!

*i am focused and determined when it comes to my uni work and since starting my new positive approach on life, i have finished my dissertation research proposal and drafted an essay, all of my other assignments are planned in detail and i've started research for them

*i am sleeping better

*and eating better

*i feel more relaxed and haven't had any anxiety/panic attacks about things

*i haven't been letting things get to me, if i feel even remotely overwhelmed by anything i just take a step back, chill for 5 or 10 minutes, and approach it again in a positive, sensible way

*you get the idea!!

i basically just wanted to whack a quick blog post out there for anyone suffering from uni related stress or any problems in general in their life that they feel they arent coping with well. the most important thing to remember is that you CAN make a change, and it CAN work!! also, you are NOT alone, family, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, even pets, can work wonders! stew is most definitely my rock in life and supports me even when i'm a complete bitch!

my final bit of advice? surround yourself with people who are positive and like minded! people who are negative and moan/whine/go on about how shit life is and how 'depressed' or 'down' they are about things just are not any good for you! i've learnt that the hard way :)

i'll be blogging again soon, just trying to keep really focused on this whole positivity thing and keep ahead with my uni work, thank you so so much to all of the wonderful, lovely bloggers who have stuck by me through this rather rocky patch and who have helped me out of it! some of you dont know how much help you've been ♥

xo

ps - title is H2O song lyrics! some things never change eh ;)
