Rimmel pink shimmer nail polish topped with models own 'juicy jules'
As above, with a coat of models own 'Ibiza mix' over the top! Mega bling :)
Acrylics off, gel overlays on!
These are my natural nails *proud*
ORLY 'goth' topped with models own 'ibiza mix' (one of my favourite combinations of all time)
Barry m limited edition purple with models own 'jade green' leopard!
At the moment I've got models own 'pastel pink' on with a top coat of 'juicy jules'. It's girly, cute and incredibly pretty in real life but for some reason won't photograph well! Frustrating :(
What are you currently loving on your nails? Let me know in the comments :)
Bonjoooourrrr!
My god does it want to be any hotter today? My car said it was 23.5 degrees when I drove home. *dies*
The heat means I just want to sit and relax tonight so I thought I'd blog, about stuff I want... :)
It seems like girls are never happy doesn't it? The amount of stuff I own is ridiculous, yet I'm in a strop because I want more but I'm going on holiday to Warsaw in September so I can't afford to buy any treats at all. Irritating at best.
Onto the lovelies:
Paco Rabanne Lady Million EDT (80ml obv!) - this is one of my favourite perfumes of all time and PR have just released a summer version... torture.
Mulberry East West Bayswater - my landlady came round toting one of these the other day and I swooned over it for what seemed like a lifetime. She's got a medium hobo as well but I much prefer this beaut!
It's no secret I love watches, I'm just a bit (read: a lot) obsessed with them. This bright pink, sparkly Toywatch is no exception. It's love. I'm going to have to make it mine somehow!
This Monica Vinader bracelet is absolutely gorgeous. Waaaaant!
Iya!
I'm currently in the process of a big clear out and I found these two today, I used to use both of them for blogging and YouTube but I got a new camera for my birthday this year so these need a new home!
Before I put them on eBay, I thought I'd pop them on here :)
Happy Sunday! and Happy Fathers Day if by some weird reason you're a Daddy and you're reading my beauty blog!
I thought I'd write about a few products today whilst I'm waiting for the laundry to finish (wahhhh grown up life is rubbish)
I have finally dipped my toes (well, in this case, fingers) into the world of Burts Bee's and I don't think I'll ever look back! The Radiance Day Creme smells good, is just thick enough to feel luxurious, but not so thick you feel greasy and it leaves my skin soft, well moisturised, and glowing. It's geeky but it's become my favourite part of the morning now because it feels like a luxury treat every single day. At £19.50 it isn't the cheapest face cream on the market but I'd argue wholeheartedly that it's one of the best!
I'm also absolutely loving my St Ives invigorating apricot facial scrub for a weekly freshen up. My pet hate is scrubs that aren't really, really 'scrubby' and this is the first facial scrub I've used that's thick and has plenty of little scrubby bits in it. The one in the photo is the travel version because I can't live without it no matter where I am and that says it all! It's between £1 and £3
Continuing with my love for scrubs and Burts Bee's, I can't get enough of this Honey and Shea Sugar Scrub. This smells absolutely divine and is a slightly oilier scrub meaning that once you've scrubbed off all of the horrible dead skin, a layer is left on your skin to moisturise it and keep it extra soft and smooth. You only need a tiny amount to do your entire body as its so thick such high quality, it's only £12.99 for a huge tub. Bargain!
I've been writing about Liz Earle products on this blog for years now, I was absolutely ecstatic when they decided to dive into the world of make-up and recently I've been dabbling with the products and trying a few bits. The Lash Definition Smudgeproof Mascara is a firm favourite of mine at the moment and is definitely something I'll repurchase. This lengthens and defines my lashes whilst still looking natural (for the daytime and summer) plus it gets through the 10-11 hour days I'm currently doing at work so I can't fault it! Another great thing about it is that it doesn't smell. Amazing. It's £14.50 and these days that's the standard price for a mascara really so I'd encourage everyone to pick a tube up!
EOS lip balms have been raved about on blogs and youtube for as long as I can remember and I finally picked one up in the 'summer fruits' flavour. It's a great lip balm and a bit of a conversation starter when you pull it out of your bag! I absolutely love it, it's roughly £5.
Summer Nails!
L-R: ORLY 'First Kiss', Barry M 'Shocking Pink', Mini ORLY 'Green With Envy', MeMeMe 'Impulsive', Models Own 'Ibiza Mix'.
I'm absolutely loving these combos! I just want the sun to come out again so I can wear them again without looking like a nutter with fluro nails when it's raining!! The ORLY polishes are my first from the brand and they're great quality, I can't wait to buy more! 'It's not me it's you' and 'orange punch' are the next on my list :)
Esteé Lauder Double Wear foundation - this has been a favourite for about 18 months now and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon! At the moment I wear this, bronzer, a wee bit of blusher and the Liz Earle mascara I've waxed lyrical about above. Simple, quick and flawless.
Benefit Porefessional - don't faint! I know! I normally hate everything Benefit has to offer, and I still firmly believe that the products are massively overpriced and small (i.e. you don't get a lot of product for your money) but this is really great. Its quick and easy to apply and makes my skin look significantly smoother. This combined with the Double Wear is pretty close to perfection ♥
Hello you lovely bunch...
There's no denying that I've been slacking on the blog front lately but I can't really apologise, for the last 18 months life has been in the way and I've hardly had time to breathe let alone write a blog!
I think the biggest news I need to share is that I lost my beloved Nanny on Sunday 27th May to cancer.
It wasn't something I was sure I wanted to share with the world on here but it's only fair I do really because my inbox is full of emails and all sorts asking how I am and what's going on etc... Nanny fought cancer for a really long time and I spent a really long time watching her slowly fade away before my eyes (hence, being so busy!). For some people, losing a Grandparent is sad, but not the end of the world. Unfortunately, well actually, fortunately for me, I was incredibly close to her and would even say I was closer to her than I am my Mum and Dad. Coping with the loss has been difficult at best but I think I'm finally turning a corner now, I've had the support of some absolutely incredible friends (some of whom I know will be lurking this so hiya!) and I'm just looking forward now, not backwards, hence writing this load of waffle for you lot!
I'm running race for life on the 24th June with 9 of the incredible women I work with, obviously its a cause incredibly close to my heart and if you want you can sponsor me here. Shameless eh? Dig deep!
Me and my little brother when we were dinky! Mum recently told me I always chose my own glasses... gurlz got syleeee!
Don't know why the photo is so small and it's beyond annoying but I can't fix it for some reason! I write all of the HTML into my posts 'raw' (read: I don't use the 'compose' function) so I've done my best to no avail :(
had an absolutely ginormous at-home-picnic with my best friend Emily, we both felt sick after all of 5 minutes. poor effort on the eating front!
The photo is sideways because I'm a moron and can't use my iPhone properly.
for the last 14-15 weeks I've spent pretty much every weekend at my Nanny's bungalow caring for her and all that 'stuff' - I snapped this when I arrived a few weeks ago because my family had 8 cars in her tiny little close and we'd started to run out of places to park! The lad going in the gate is my not-so-little-anymore brother.
I rescued a dog! Found this gorgeous little guy outside my flat and took him in for a bit then took him to the RSPCA... I really hope his owners found him, he was divine! :(
bought a fairly incredible pyjama top from Primark. Take me out quotes get me every time :)
Did a lot of stupid shit in Asda... that is Emily (see: picnic) not me! obv.
took an embarrassing posey photo of myself because I thought I looked reem. no more to be said there really...
Saw some HUGE Pyrenees Mountain Dogs! His head was bigger than mine!
lived out of a suitcase for two weeks. Yes thats a ukulele. no I can't play it... yet.
Officially there's not a huge amount to report, I've been road testing lots of products and I'll be reviewing those that are worthy of review over the next few weeks (exciting stuff!). I also went to Blackpool for a weekend, I think we took about three photos on the trip and one was of a pizza so I can't really share them with you! All I'll say is that it's an interesting place, we booked our trip here and to be honest, if all you want is a bed for the night and free entry to nightclubs then I'd definitely recommend it! Just don't expect room service, complimentary port, or good wine ;) Club Sanuk is good but drinks are ridiculously expensive (no, I don't want to pay £3.70 for a VK).
I also got into a bikini whilst I was there and went to Sandcastle/Waterworld for a day... I wimped out of the water-slide-things but had plenty of fun in the wave pool!
I don't really have anything to report on the diet front either, I'm strongly considering the Cambridge diet at the moment because I seem to have plateaued and it's doing my head in. If you've done it stick a comment on this post and tell me how you got on please!
I've still been reading hundreds of blogs and keeping up with Twitter and my emails so I haven't completely disappeared, hopefully now I'm at home most weekends I'll be able to write a bit more :)
I'll whack some Current Favourites on the end because that's always fun isn't it!
Song:
Dot Rotten - Overload. Definitely my 'summer anthem'
YouTube Video:
Jess Norris being generally incredible, and proving that lots of pole dancers are athletes, not sketchy women in dark bars! I'm using her as my fitness inspiration at the moment :) Her move at 1:56 is one of the most impressive things ever, what a babe!
Lipstick: MAC Hue - simple, easy, goes with everything
Random:
'Pass out' is a drinking board game that you play with 4 players but if there's more of you, some of you pair up. You can get it for about a tenner from amazon and providing you're legally old enough to drink, I would absolutely urge you to buy it. It's addictive, funny, and most of all brilliant at bringing together people that don't know each other too well... it all gets a bit messy, a bit competitive, and a bit loud though so play at your own peril and don't blame me for any consequences!
It's been lovely doing this but it's getting ridiculously long now, if you made it this far then well done! I'm just talking rubbish really.
xo
ps - i can only apologise for the photos and videos being different sizes.. Google Chrome crashed on me today so on a friends' (rubbish!!) recommendation I'm using Firefox and it just isn't the same!
