Just a quick one today because for once, I don't have much to say!
As you all know I very regularly talk about Batiste on my blog, predominantly because (like aussie) I've used their products for many, many years. Batiste recently bought out Batiste XXL - a dry shampoo promising extra extra large volume whilst eliminating grease and oils from the hair and giving it the infamous 'batiste just-washed' look.
I've been using the Batiste XXL for a while now - either to create more volume or to sort out my 'needs to be washed but i don't have time' days ;)
Here are some product images:

This product for me just isn't anywhere near as good as the other Batiste products. I find it sticky and it really seems to clog up my hair and weigh it down! The first time I used it I was convinced I had just done something wrong but after many, many other attempts I've decided this just isn't for me. I'm going to stick with the 'nude' and 'tropical' variations :)
don't get me wrong, it definitely gives my hair a lot more volume but it also makes it sticky and weighed down (like i said above) and I also find it makes my hair really frizzy :( It's no biggie though because there are so many other Batiste products that have had Holy Grail Status on my bathroom shelves for many years!
Sorry Batiste, I love you so, so much but this one just isn't my cuppa tea!
What do you think? Have you been getting on with Batiste XXL or have you had the same issues as me?
As I've only used this can 2-3x (couldn't stand how weighed down my hair felt) I'm willing to give it away to one of my blog readers so they can try it for free and see if they have any better luck with it! If you'd like to bag yourself a free can of Batiste XXL then just let me know in the comments below! If there's lots of comments I'll just pick someone at random :)
^this will also show how many of you actually read this little blog and don't just look at pictures!
xo
I really like mine, although if my hair needs some batiste then I just head straight to the coloured one for brown hair and mess my hair up abit for volume! x
ReplyDeleteWow nice glad you loved it. (my attempt at pretending I didn't read and just looked at pics... *sigh*failed joke...)
ReplyDeleteI thought it would be sticky, I just like the normal ones. I have blush ATM but k don't find it cleans aswell as original. Plus original seems more pressurised when it comes out and it really blasts the hair.
Xxxx
i have been using the backcomb in a bottle on and off and sometimes i find that makes my hair frizzy as well. maybe my hair just doesnt get along with these type of products... :D

Sorry you didnt like it. I would love to give it a try though as my hair is generally as flat as a pancake. xx
ReplyDeleteI really don't like Batiste products, I feel like they do absolutely nothing for me which is really annoying!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it before but it's a shame it hasn't worked for you D: I would love to give it a try but am now pretty skeptical. My hair is fine so gets weighed down really easily by products claiming to give volume! :P
ReplyDeleteI recently bought Tropical in the big cans and didn't realize it was faulty. I used it once, and the next time I picked it up it was almost empty! Turns out there must have been a hole or something as you hear the stuff hissing and escaping. I can't find the receipt either, and after contacting Batiste on Twitter and not hearing back I've just given up and accepted that I've lost my money.

Oh I was going to purchase when my can of Brit runs out :( my hair is flat and thin anyway the last thing I need is something weighing it down!
ReplyDeleteI've heard mixed things about this. My hair could do with some volume though, So I would love to try it out.

Ha ha I do read :) Was curious about this version of Batiste, but in North America, we only have the regular, Blush and Tropical. Just found Diva and Boho, hope they work just as well as Blush. Too bad XXL didn't work for you
ReplyDeleteOoh I would love to try this, never tried any of their spray products, just the nude one which is fab. I wonder if it would give my limp fine hair the boost im always so desperately looking for.

I keep hearing mixed things about this one, it looked great though, it's sad!
ReplyDeleteI've got to admit I've never tried any Batiste products maybe I should?!
ReplyDeleteNever tried this before, but I couldnt live without original batiste, mostly to cover my dodgy roots when they grow through! x
ReplyDeleteI would love to try it, I've heard that its like the Umberto Giannini 'Backcomb in a bottle' but better. I'm intrigued to try it given that you didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try it, I think I'm like the only person in the blogging community who hasn't tried something from the newer Batiste products!
ReplyDeletegreat post, it's a shame you didn't get on with it xx
I guess I'm probably too late, but I'd love to give this a try. Volume is a big problem for me and my hair, and although I like the tropical Batist, it doesn't do anything for volume. Good to see a decent review.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get hold of this for ages to try but it's always sold out in my local boots :( if you're still looking for someone to give it a good home I'd really love to try it out!
