Book Review: Colleen Nolan - Envy

This is a really new release, I picked it up whilst mooching round Sainsbury's and paid about a fiver for it :) I must admit, i'm partial to a bit of Loose Women so i was curious about whether this book would be any good...

Envy tells the story of Karen King, she is a television favourite who has split up with her husband after he cheated on her and got a young blonde pregnant... She is the presenter of the late night hit show 'Girl Talk' and her life is about to get incredibly complicated when she meets a sexy new man and fights start to break out between the Girl Talk presenters.

'Shocking secrets are revealed as the women fight it out for the top slot. Can Karen survive and make the right choices - in love and in her career?'

Don't get me wrong, this is a good read, its just a bit.....well, crap. The way the story is written is really awesome and it definately 'sucks you in' and you get really involved in the story - but its all a bit cliché! The women present a talk show on TV, loose women is mentioned a number of times, as are various celebs and it all just seems a bit close to home - as if coleen hasn't actually bothered thinking of anything original but shes just sort of writing about herself and things she has seen? Obviously a lot of it is completely made up, she nearly gets shot at once point and there is a lot of drama throughout the story so obviously Nolan has used her imagination at some points but some of it is clearly ripped off from real life and its just a bit cheesey for me! I did enjoy it, but it could have been a lot better!!

If you're thinking about picking this up I'd definately wait til it goes on offer or you can nick it off of a friend/your mum or someone!! I wasn't massively impressed with this!
